WARM, CONVERSATIONAL ONLINE THERAPY
Everyone has the power to make positive changes in their lives.
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed and unsure where to begin. And that's ok.
Therapy can help you understand the experiences that shaped your life, reconnect with your emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you reach out.
That is something we can figure out together.

Therapy should feel human.
A safe place to talk, understand yourself, and begin making different choices.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
You’re functioning. But you don’t feel fulfilled.
You handle what needs to be handled. You take care of other people. You keep going. But underneath, something still feels off.
You are not broken.
You have adapted. The patterns that once helped you survive may now be keeping you stuck.
You overthink nearly everything.
You feel guilty when you put yourself first.
You react strongly and do not always understand why.
You keep repeating the same relationship patterns.
You minimize, avoid, or judge your emotions.
You feel responsible for everyone else’s happiness.
You have gotten very good at pretending you are okay.
MY APPROACH
Therapy doesn't have to feel intimidating.
One of the biggest worries people have before beginning therapy is that they will spend the first session answering endless questions about their childhood. That is not how I work.
I want to understand what is making life difficult for you right now. My first priority is helping you leave our initial session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about where we are headed.
What is keeping you up at night?
What would make tomorrow feel a little better than today?
What is making life feel heavy?
What finally made you reach out?

THE THERAPY FEELS DIFFERENT
Therapy With Me Feels Like a Real Conversation.
I do not expect you to arrive with everything figured out. I will not overwhelm you with clinical jargon or make you feel like there is something wrong with you.
Human
Sometimes we will laugh. Sometimes we will sit with difficult emotions.
Clear
I turn psychological language into everyday language that makes sense.
Personal
My role is not to fix you. It is to help you understand yourself more deeply.
A LITTLE PERMISSION
You Have Permission To…
Feel angry.
Set boundaries.
Ask for what you need.
Live by your own values.
Feel sad.
Put yourself first.
Stop pretending.
Take a pajama day.
MEET AMY
Amy Bloom, LCSW
I became a therapist because I have always believed that people make the best decisions they can with the tools they have at the time.
Sometimes those tools helped us survive. Years later, however, those same tools can leave us feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck without understanding why.
I do not believe people are broken. I believe they have adapted. My role is to help you understand those adaptations, reconnect with yourself, and empower you to make changes that foster growth and self discovery.
